Romain Poncet - PhD Student

I am a PhD student under the supervision of Anne de Bouard.

I am working on the numerical analysis of some dispersive SPDEs that arise in the modeling of Bose-Einstein condensation and non-linear optics.

I am especially interested in the following topics,

  • Variance reduction methods such as multilevel Monte-Carlo methods,

  • sampling of invariant measures (development of an unbiased nonreversible Langevin method (submitted article), optimal Talay-Tubaro extrapolation),

  • strong convergence analysis for a class of stochastic Schrödinger equation with Crank-Nicolson (submitted article) and splitting schemes,

  • analysis of vortex dynamics in Bose-Einstein condensates (published article),

  • rare event simulations,

  • numerical analysis of metastable dynamics in rotating Bose-Einstein condensates at finite temperature.

I am also interested in High Performance Computing (in C/C++ - MPI/OpenMP).
